OUR EASTPAK ADVENTURE: “WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME?”

Eastpak, the urban lifestyle brand made famous by their backpacks have released their new creative campaign for 2012, celebrating life and inspiring new experiences. It’s about making the most of the world around you and sharing life with other people. Urban living is busy, rich in culture and full of unique ideas, much like the Eastpak on your back, cramming as much as you can into your day and fulfilling daily ambitions.

The campaign urges us to try something new, asking us “When was the last time you did something for the first time?” This inspiring question made me think about what I do with my time, and the people I share it with. It made me realise that every one of us promises something in the future, whether it be attainable or ambitious, but that future never appears. Every day I dream of things totally ambitious, like learning to fly, but I’m sure given the right chances it will happen.

This year, much like many other people, I made a new year’s resolution to ‘do one culturally rewarding thing a day’ (inspired my dearest mother), along with the usual chocolate, cigarettes and alcohol spiel. The one that stuck was finding something in my day that I will enjoy, remember and can share. It’s a good feeling making people smile, daily pleasantries are an easy and pleasing way to make your day rewarding and enriching. I try to share something each day, do something active, read or take in some history – looking at something different broadens our minds.

When thinking about the last time I did something for the first time, it kind of made me wonder what I could do for the first time, given the whole summer. Between good friends and colleagues, both the same, we’re planning a surf tour of Europe in our campers, hitting France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and wherever else we can get to. My personal surfing excursions haven’t left the UK yet, so naturally, I’m unbelievably excited to start! Surfing is one of our shared passions, along with food – good food. Whilst pottering around in the sea, we will be taking in our surroundings and learning more about the food we love to eat. Here’s a snap of the van taking us across the pond (I have to admit, it isn’t mine but I will get to drive it):

This campaign is about finding things that make your days fuller and enriching your life, so let us ask you WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID SOMETHING FOR THE FIRST TIME? Get out and live and let us know, we’d love to hear about it for sure. Have a look at the photos below for inspiration and visit the Eastpak site for more information!
