3.1 Phillip Lim still stands as one of our favorite brands, continuously bringing simplicity, well-cut, excellent structured pieces every season. The Pre-Fall 2012 Womenswear collection drew inspiration from pop art and comic books, which is apparent from the bold ‘ka-pow’ graphics utilized throughout the collection.
This line is gorgeous for one main reason; the fun graphics contrasted with the slick shapes and tailoring perfectly highlights Lim’s approach of bringing together modern style and classic elegance. The favourites have to be the accessories, the colour-ways are incredible, very clearly taking inspiration from the super hero/neo-noir comic theme. The 31 minutes patchwork bags have to be the ultimate favorites though (pictured below).
