Here I present Enclave Apparel‘s latest collection for Summer 2012 ‘Same as Always’.
Firstly we like the set up of the lookbook; an unconventional setup and layout, shot by Luke J Wright. They have taken a simplistic approach using a white studio background paired with some unusual props that works really well relating to theme. The collection is cleverly named ‘Same as Always’ highlighting the idea that originality in fact is an impossible trait; especially within clothing lines, “essentially nothing is new and everything’s been done before in some way or another”. But then goes on to shed light onto the idea that if you cannot bring originality to the table bring surprises and unexpected twists.
In essence I agree, this description fits this collection perfectly and to the brand; yes we’ve seen graphic print white tees, shirts and chino shorts used a-plenty within menswear collections from UK brands but I have to say Enclave have stepped up the game and have achieved to bring us a fresh twist on classic high quality staples.
Enclaves style sits pleasantly in the middleground somewhere between streetwear and menswear, providing a mixture of shirts, shorts, graphic print tees and a delightful duffle bag. It features two long sleeved button up shirts both designs have a two tone shoulder panel contrast which gives the shirt a bit of an edge, available in grey and denim. An array of graphic tees framing the line with their distinctive designs, prints available on the front and back. Onto the favorites for me, in fact what first instinctively drew me to the line, the 3 pairs of shorts with the flash of print on the turn ups. I would say a ‘must’ summer short, available in blue with a paisley print turn up or in beige or olive with a flash of camouflage. Faultlessly finishing off the collection with a large, sporty beige and camouflage duffle bag fit with travel tag square and matching strap.
All in all a fantastic summer line from Enclave and look forward to seeing the next progression for AW12. Collection available online here.
