MUSIC: BAND OF THE WEEK – ARTHUR BEATRICE

New band of the week for y’all.

For Fans of: Deaf Club, The XX, Mystery Jets.

They go by the name of Arthur Beatrice, coming from Beatrice Arthur, the best of all golden girls… If their name isn’t good enough alone just have a listen to “Not Without Thinking”, the B-side to their next single “Charity” (out Mid July), currently streaming on their Soundcloud.  Also be sure to take a listen to the live recording of the brilliantly ever building “What We Hoped To Achieve”.

So not only do they make super slick indie popsongs they also run Open Assembly which next graces The Lexington on Monday 23rd July, with support from G R E A T W A V E S and obviously a lovely headline set from your new favourite band Arthur Beatrice.

The band recently played at The BBC Hackney Weekend, managing to bring some credible music to an otherwise soulless line up – be sure to check their set for 15 minutes of pure delight.
