This limited edition illustrated book is yet another creative outlet of The Maccabees’ front-man Orlando Weeks. It features a short story with a 6 song soundtrack, each song corresponding to a section of the book. It is a limited run on 1500 copies available exclusively from http://www.youngcolossus.co.uk and with much pride I can say that I have had mine through the post!
The book itself is illustrated by the very talented Robert Hunter, his art work fitting seamlessly with Orlando’s solo project. It is vibrant, descriptive and emotive and harmoniously holistic when read whilst listening to the album. The 6-track album features musician Nic Nell and Alessi Laurent-Marke of ‘Alessi’s Ark’ of whom can be heard in the below track ‘Franky’.
